Sustainer

When you get to a point where Jesus is the centre of your life and you have this unexplainable fire and desire to see more of Him. There are thoughts that start to flood your mind.

"It won't last. You're going to go back to the way you were. You're gonna go back to old habits."

But those are lies.

You are a new creation in Christ. Sin has no power over you, anxiety has no power over you – and neither does fear.

If you've started habits like reading your bible, praying or having a consistent conversations with Him – keep going!!

Personally, right before New Year's I told Jesus I'm not going back into this new semester the same way I left last semester. The past three months I've had the worst mental attack I've ever experienced. Oct. till Dec., was really hard. I prayed that Jesus would renew me, in every way possible. He kept encouraging me during that time, He told me keep going, your breakthrough is coming.

And He was right (like He usually is.)

I've never felt a physical difference after New Years before, but I did this year. Coming back home from New Year's I felt different. There was a sense of overflowing joy and peace over me that I couldn't explain in words. I was just so excited about 2023.

Then a couple days before school started, I had those thoughts I mentioned earlier. "It's not gonna last." I'm here to encourage you guys today, Jesus is a sustainer.

If He put that fire in you, He will sustain it. Now that doesn't mean He's going to do it for you, but just like a real fire you need to consistently maintain it by putting new logs.

So He may sustain you by giving you more wood for your fire. That could be through loads of different things, people, mentors, friends or through things you consume like music, TV shows, movies. Whatever it is, He will sustain you.

Keep feeding your spirit.

Listen to what He tells you. Be ready, when He tells you go, go! When He tells you not to do something, don't do it.

I feel like we are about to enter a season where God is placing people where He wants them to be. So He's going to fill you up with more of His spirit, His love, and His heart for others.

I pray this year is a blessing for you and that we hear of testimonies of God's goodness in your life. Whatever happens this year remember.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever." Hebrews 13:8
